The referee ignored FC RWE - INAKTIV's protests and gave Charlie Russok a yellow card for diving instead. Toni Northe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jon Akcakoca, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederik Golz in the 13th minute of play forced FC RWE - INAKTIV's goalkeeper Toni Northe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC RWE - INAKTIV's goalkeeper Toni Northe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Frederik Golz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to FC RWE - INAKTIV getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Jonas Djir hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute of the match Oswald Krapf shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Toni Northe showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Toni Northe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frederik Golz in the 27th minute of the match. When FC RWE - INAKTIV's Martin Seelmann in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Borussia Dormund's goalie prevented a goal. If Martin Seelmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. After the first half Borussia Dormund were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

53 minutes into the game, Oswald Krapf was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Borussia Dormund's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC RWE - INAKTIV the free kick. In the 54th minute, Oswald Krapf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Martin Seelmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th minute, Ashley Kahn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frederik Golz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Toni Northe having to make a save. If Dieter Appolt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the match, FC RWE - INAKTIV's goalkeeper Toni Northe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jon Akcakoca. Borussia Dormund's Jon Akcakoca got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute Martin Seelmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efraim Störmsdörfer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The FC RWE - INAKTIV supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Borussia Dormund's performance. The match ended with a win for Borussia Dormund.
