After 11 played minutes DARK ANGELS got a freekick which was hit by Dejan Mach. A collision led to Rot-Weiss Essen getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Wolf Wulff hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, DARK ANGELS's goal looked a bit too open when Andreas Edewecht came free, but Pedro Klute reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, Rot-Weiss Essen's Wolf Wulff nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Klute made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Pedro Klute took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wolf Wulff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, Andreas Edewecht hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute, Simon Engert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the DARK ANGELS defense, Wolf Wulff kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Klute. The DARK ANGELS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Klute should have stopped the shot. In the 36th minute, Adonis Keim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Quincy Stallmann hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute, Wolf Wulff left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rot-Weiss Essen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henning Parr in the 46th minute of play forced DARK ANGELS's goalkeeper Pedro Klute to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

In the 51st match minute, DARK ANGELS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Mohs to maneuver through the defense. DARK ANGELS's Pedro Klute played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mosche Rohleder in the 53rd minute of play. DARK ANGELS were furious when Dejan Mach was red carded, 58 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. A collision led to DARK ANGELS getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Dejan Mach hit a great ball. Pit Winkelmeier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Mohs in the 61st minute of the match. A collision led to DARK ANGELS getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Urs Fabian Nörenberg hit a great ball. DARK ANGELS's Pedro Klute proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save DARK ANGELS from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wolf Wulff in the 73rd minute of play forced DARK ANGELS's goalkeeper Pedro Klute to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Marian Püst fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DARK ANGELS's protests and gave Marian Püst a yellow card for diving instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Rot-Weiss Essen's Wolf Wulff slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedro Klute. That made the score 0-4 after 78 minutes of play. Pit Winkelmeier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simon Engert in the 83rd minute of the match. Pit Winkelmeier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Engert in the 89th minute of play. In the 96th minute Carsten Schapper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pit Winkelmeier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rot-Weiss Essen's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
