Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to GALATASARAYardasamet getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Lars Merk hit a great ball. Gottfried Bastian walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Blohberger in the 17th minute of play forced GALATASARAYardasamet's goalkeeper Heiner Sippel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Lars Blohberger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Heiner Sippel. GALATASARAYardasamet's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lars Blohberger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Egon Garefrekes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Sonny Dommert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lars Blohberger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 33rd minute, Drees Blank got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lars Blohberger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. GALATASARAYardasamet's Heiner Sippel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Blohberger in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute Drees Blank shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heiner Sippel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lars Blohberger took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Heiner Sippel. Heiner Sippel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lars Blohberger to make the kick off. Drees Blank fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heiner Sippel having to interfere. GALATASARAYardasamet:s Heiner Sippel showed great skill when he stopped Ergün Ehrstein:s penalty. In the 62nd minute, GALATASARAYardasamet's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lars Blohberger fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Heiner Sippel was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ergün Ehrstein. Drees Blank struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Heiner Sippel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Flackenhorst. In the 73rd minute Egon Garefrekes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costa Grieshaber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arvid Schicker hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Lars Blohberger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Egon Garefrekes struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Costa Grieshaber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GALATASARAYardasamet. Flackenhorst played a much better game than GALATASARAYardasamet and deserved their victory. The GALATASARAYardasamet players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
