The tension between the Kerpen and the Bouderath players grew even worse after the yellow card. A sloppy throw-in by Folko Wienen in the 34th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Kerpen's David Strasbach. Anselm Jester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Günther Brunet having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Hanno Hampen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kerpen's supporters rose to their feet, but Hanno Hampen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Günther Brunet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 69 minutes into the match, Kerpen's goal looked a bit too open when Gunther Beckmann came free, but Eppo Czwenk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When August Lautwein came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Kerpen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that August Lautwein couldn't finish the play. Hanno Hampen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Günther Brunet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselm Jester in the 74th minute of the match. Raphael Schebesta charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raphael Schebesta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Anselm Jester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bouderath's Günther Brunet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselm Jester in the 94th minute of play. Kerpen walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
