Rocky Rothensteiner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marius Theuer having to interfere. Elmar Blatzheim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Brandstrup, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Azadi's goalkeeper Elmar Blatzheim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 15th minute, Roger Neumann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Niederschmalkalden booed when FC Azadi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adnan Steinebrunner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patrick Brandstrup scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elmar Blatzheim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Elmar Blatzheim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harald Heitland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Harald Heitland came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Niederschmalkalden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harald Heitland couldn't finish the play. Harald Heitland struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Elmar Blatzheim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Niederschmalkalden. Patrick Brandstrup recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

54 minutes into the game, Harald Heitland recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Elmar Blatzheim. Harald Heitland showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Raiko Ullbrich took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marius Theuer. Niederschmalkalden's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Patrick Brandstrup had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Elmar Blatzheim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Harald Heitland's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. If Harald Heitland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd match minute, Niederschmalkalden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berthold Wissmann to maneuver through the defense. FC Azadi's Elmar Blatzheim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berthold Wissmann in the 87th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Patrick Brandstrup fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When the match was over Niederschmalkalden could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Azadi throughout the match.
