Niko Pirkner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tim Pawelski having to interfere. Eberhard Bäcker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Galatasaray's Niko Pirkner got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24th minute, Eberhard Bäcker ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gottlieb Dilling was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 29th minute, Eberhard Bäcker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gottlieb Dilling showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Friedrich Nawrath in the 31st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Bistrup's Alfred Faßbach got a free kick in the 36th minute. The supporters of Galatasaray booed when Bistrup was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bero Rehm didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bistrup's goalkeeper Tim Pawelski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Anselm Nagat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 48 minutes, Niko Pirkner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galatasaray's supporters crossed their fingers, but Niko Pirkner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Claus Bleich missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 61 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Tim Pawelski right hand side. Niko Pirkner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Niko Pirkner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 played minutes Bistrup got a freekick which was hit by Bero Rehm. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bistrup's goalkeeper Tim Pawelski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Niko Pirkner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 77 played minutes, Galatasaray's Claus Bleich shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tim Pawelski came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Galatasaray reached it. If Niko Pirkner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute, Joerg-Uwe Schnappauf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Friedrich Nawrath kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. The Bistrup supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bistrup would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
