Lasse Frank who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 10thth minute tested the skills of Mesut Hirtzel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. STELLE's Lasse Frank got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 13 played minutes FC Simon 1978 got a freekick which was hit by Malte Schulz. With a little luck, FC Simon 1978's Mesut Hirtzel got control of the ball when Lasse Frank tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gunter Schröder in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johannes Kruck saved STELLE from getting behind. FC Simon 1978's Mesut Hirtzel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marvin Reincke in the 20th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Benedikt Hübner managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Simon 1978's supporters rose to their feet, but Benedikt Hübner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johannes Kruck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 26th match minute, FC Simon 1978 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malte Schulz to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute of the match Max Weidemann shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mesut Hirtzel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mesut Hirtzel acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 47th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Kornel Penneke. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gunter Schröder to strike the kick off in the second half. FC Simon 1978's Mesut Hirtzel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lasse Frank in the 76th minute of play.
