The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eidinghausen FC's Tibor Reutter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl Kurtz in the 5th minute of play. Michail Pfeffer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Achim Gaede tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Michail Pfeffer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Achim Gaede having to interfere. Figen Hammel scored 1-0 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Achim Gaede, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Elvert FC's zone, Figen Hammel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Achim Gaede came out of the goal and Figen Hammel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Karl Kurtz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 26th match minute, Elvert FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justin Spieß to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Michail Pfeffer was the one to do the kick off. When Justin Spieß fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Elvert FC's protests and gave Justin Spieß a yellow card for diving instead. Achim Gaede showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Figen Hammel, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute of the match Eidinghausen FC got a corner. Elvert FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Irmin Hütt ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Karl Kurtz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elvert FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Karl Kurtz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tibor Reutter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Karl Kurtz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tibor Reutter having to interfere. Ephraim Blumenhofen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Tibor Reutter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Elvert FC booed when Eidinghausen FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Figen Hammel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tibor Reutter didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 83rd minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. After 86 minutes, Thilo Gunter Spoorendonk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The excitement rose when Eidinghausen FC's Figen Hammel after 89 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Elvert FC's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 2-1. In the 94th minute, Heribert Höllen made a precise shot to the right of Achim Gaede. Elvert FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1.
