The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Felix Kolb received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Malte Steenblock came out and tried to block the shot, but Felix Kolb slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 4th minute. Joschka Knoeringen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hannes Nell having to interfere. Malte Steenblock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yannik Leber in the 37th minute of the match. Ede Appelt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Malte Steenblock firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Niko Möhring fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bökenförde's protests and gave Niko Möhring a yellow card for diving instead. Niko Möhring kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Ede Appelt came free with the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Malte Steenblock could save by the left post. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Barfuss Jerusalem's goalkeeper Hannes Nell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marvin Michl's late challenge caught a Bökenförde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marvin Michl helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th match minute, Barfuss Jerusalem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marvin Michl to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joschka Knoeringen to strike the kick off in the second half. Malte Steenblock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jiri Lückmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 55 minutes, Horatio Stoletzky mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bökenförde and the Barfuss Jerusalem players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Bökenförde getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Horatio Stoletzky hit a great ball. 59 minutes into the game, Joschka Knoeringen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Hannes Nell was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 67th match minute, Barfuss Jerusalem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ede Appelt to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the game, Janko Burka was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bökenförde's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barfuss Jerusalem the free kick. The supporters of Barfuss Jerusalem booed when Bökenförde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Janko Burka didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barfuss Jerusalem's Hannes Nell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Barfuss Jerusalem from getting a goal against them. Boris Brauch's late challenge caught a Barfuss Jerusalem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Boris Brauch helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th minute, Boris Brauch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joschka Knoeringen took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hannes Nell. Hannes Nell dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Joschka Knoeringen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Hannes Nell made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ede Appelt in the 91st minute of play forced Bökenförde's goalkeeper Malte Steenblock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bökenförde's Malte Steenblock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Kolb in the 93rd minute of play. The Bökenförde supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bökenförde would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
