Tim Beckers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Detleff Scheerer having to interfere. After 13 played minutes Sven Kissinger rounded SG Bühlau's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. The supporters of SG Bühlau booed when KKS Lech Poznań was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacques Baier didn't get a good kick on the ball. SG Bühlau's Detleff Scheerer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven Kissinger in the 21st minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, KKS Lech Poznań's goal looked a bit too open when Egon Juratovic came free, but Valérien Goetz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Sven Kissinger took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Detleff Scheerer to make any attempt to save it. Kai Plank charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kai Plank the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kai Plank might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valérien Goetz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kai Plank ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Wulf-Dieter Hogen managed to get in a good position for a shot.
