After some careless play in the SV Duisburg defense, Leopold Laux kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Franz Indenklef. The SV Duisburg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Franz Indenklef should have stopped the shot. Rigobert Haug struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Elard Kroiß didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SV Duisburg. Silvester Müller kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Elard Kroiß took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Slaven Reule, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20thth minute of the game Rigobert Haug who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Darderhöfe FC's Elard Kroiß was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 22nd match minute, Darderhöfe FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mike Risthaus to maneuver through the defense. Slaven Reule sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rigobert Haug scored 1-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elard Kroiß, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. SV Duisburg's Christoph Hasse got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Darderhöfe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Slaven Reule came free, but Elard Kroiß reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute Christoph Hasse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elard Kroiß saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Slaven Reule got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for SV Duisburg. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Mike Risthaus made the kick off in the second half. Christoph Hasse could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Elard Kroiß made a huge save. Elard Kroiß made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Steen Butzendorf sent off a good shot on target. SV Duisburg's Christoph Hasse managed to work through Darderhöfe FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Christoph Hasse could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Elard Kroiß made a huge save. SV Duisburg's Franz Indenklef played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mike Risthaus in the 80th minute of play. SV Duisburg's Slaven Reule got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Philippe Fernkorn charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
