Wolfgang Langer hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Leif Wischmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Ahos's supporters rose to their feet, but Leif Wischmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stephan Engels breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 17 minutes, Vladimir Wichter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Ahos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladimir Wichter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Stephan Engels managed to avoid a goal in the 22ndth minute, when FC Ahos's Eike Mende fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 27th minute, Wolfgang Langer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Noah Meis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wolfgang Langer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Energie Cottbus's Martin Döbbe got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vladimir Wichter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Stephan Engels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stephan Engels showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladimir Wichter, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eike Mende in the 41st minute of play forced FC Energie Cottbus's goalkeeper Stephan Engels to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes into the game, Detlef Ruben cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Noah Meis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 46 minutes into the game, Wolfgang Langer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Energie Cottbus's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Ahos the free kick. In the 47th minute, Wolfgang Langer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The FC Ahos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Energie Cottbus were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vladimir Wichter to make the kick off. Noah Meis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinhart Buschlinger in the 54th minute of play. Stephan Engels showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladimir Wichter, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute Leif Wischmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stephan Engels saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 59 minutes, Heimko Klaassen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Energie Cottbus and the FC Ahos players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 60th minute, Heimko Klaassen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Energie Cottbus's Stephan Engels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leif Wischmann in the 62nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wolfgang Langer got free with Noah Meis in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eike Mende lost his temper 66 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Ahos! The goalkeeper, Noah Meis, was totally fooled by FC Energie Cottbus's Fredy Türkmen, who 68 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Vladimir Wichter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the FC Energie Cottbus defense, Leif Wischmann kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stephan Engels. The FC Energie Cottbus fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stephan Engels should have stopped the shot. Stephan Engels stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vladimir Wichter's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. FC Energie Cottbus's Stephan Engels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leif Wischmann in the 82nd minute of play. Vladimir Wichter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wolfgang Langer got his second yellow card in the match during the 86th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Vladimir Wichter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Stephan Engels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Reinhart Buschlinger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Noah Meis. FC Ahos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reinhart Buschlinger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. In the 93rd minute, Karl Rocker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Noah Meis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Detlef Ruben in the 98th minute of the match. Noah Meis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Martin Döbbe went, in the 99th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FC Energie Cottbus had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
