After 8 minutes, Friedo Koppelberg made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Borussia's Steffen Gaab tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Springhorn's Heiko Hocke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Springhorn from getting a goal against them. In the 19thth minute of the game Friedo Koppelberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Borussia's Steffen Gaab was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Friedo Koppelberg put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Steffen Gaab. The supporters of Springhorn booed when Borussia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingmar Brei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilhelm Stapelfeldt hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Friedo Koppelberg struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Steffen Gaab didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Springhorn. After a rather tough play, Borussia's Wilhelm Stapelfeldt got a free kick in the 37th minute. In the 37th minute of the match Jan Kliemt shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Steffen Gaab showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Springhorn's Jan Kliemt broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 47 minutes of play, Springhorn's Friedo Koppelberg made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Steffen Gaab was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Friedo Koppelberg to make the kick off. After 59 minutes, Wilhelm Stapelfeldt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Borussia and the Springhorn players grew even worse after the yellow card. Wilhelm Stapelfeldt hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Heiko Hocke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilhelm Stapelfeldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sören Nonnenmacher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Heiko Hocke came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Borussia's Ingmar Brei. But to his dismay, Ingmar Brei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Springhorn's Heiko Hocke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Winfried Jobst in the 79th minute of play. The supporters of Borussia booed when Springhorn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Friedo Koppelberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Borussia getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Winfried Jobst hit a great ball. Friedo Koppelberg in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Steffen Gaab, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After having played for 90 minutes, Friedo Koppelberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Springhorn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Friedo Koppelberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dirk Klaus during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Springhorn booed when Borussia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dirk Klaus didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded Springhorn left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Borussia.
