Hergen Iggelheimer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernd Heidemann, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The Neuhimmelreich FC fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Neuhimmelreich FC's Bernd Heidemann looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Theo Binninger hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. After 16 minutes, Bernd Heidemann made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Piast's Hergen Iggelheimer tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Piast defense, Bernd Heidemann kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hergen Iggelheimer. The Piast fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hergen Iggelheimer should have stopped the shot. 0-4 became the score in the 28th minute when Bernd Heidemann elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ivica Ladwig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Johann Kunter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Neuhimmelreich FC's Bernd Heidemann got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Florian Thurow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lars Neitzel made a kick off. Florian Thurow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Neuhimmelreich FC's Johann Kunter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivica Ladwig in the 63rd minute of play. Hergen Iggelheimer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Florian Thurow went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. 69 minutes into the game, Bernd Heidemann lined in a short shot 0-8 behind a frustrated Hergen Iggelheimer. After 74 minutes, Radim Brandstädt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Neuhimmelreich FC and the Piast players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 74th match minute, Neuhimmelreich FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radim Brandstädt to maneuver through the defense. In the 90thth minute of the game Bernd Heidemann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Piast's Hergen Iggelheimer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 93 played minutes Neuhimmelreich FC got a freekick which was hit by Tjark Kopinski. After a rather tough play, Piast's Nils Gleissner got a free kick in the 97th minute. Neuhimmelreich FC played a much better game than Piast and deserved their victory. The Piast players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
