After having played for 8 minutes, Arnold Leupold managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnold Leupold was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Johann Kunter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atze Gödtel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Neuhimmelreich FC defense, Arnold Leupold kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Johann Kunter. The Neuhimmelreich FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Johann Kunter should have stopped the shot. Valentin Kramp lost his temper 35 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 34th minute, one of Neuhimmelreich FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Neuhimmelreich FC. 38 minutes into the game, Arnold Leupold cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Johann Kunter was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Atze Gödtel scored 0-4 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Johann Kunter, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Johann Kunter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopold Bednarski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 46 played minutes SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04 got a freekick which was hit by Herbert Suhrke. 48 minutes into the match, Neuhimmelreich FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arnold Leupold came free, but Johann Kunter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lars Oliver Walden to make the kick off. A collision led to Neuhimmelreich FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Florian Thurow hit a great ball. Neuhimmelreich FC's Johann Kunter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopold Bednarski in the 56th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Arnold Leupold had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Johann Kunter. Neuhimmelreich FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arnold Leupold was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Florian Thurow came free in the 67th minute and tried to tip the ball over Georg Schossow, but to the joy of SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04's supporters the ball went over. 71 minutes into the match, Neuhimmelreich FC's goalkeeper Johann Kunter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnold Leupold. If Florian Thurow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the game, Herbert Suhrke was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Neuhimmelreich FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04's Herbert Suhrke got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 83rd minute Arnold Leupold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johann Kunter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Johann Kunter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Atze Gödtel in the 89th minute of the match. The supporters of Neuhimmelreich FC booed when SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herbert Suhrke didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopold Bednarski in the 96th minute of play forced Neuhimmelreich FC's goalkeeper Johann Kunter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The SSV SCHALKE KNAPPEN 04 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
