When Pal Laeger came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pal Laeger couldn't finish the play. Ludwig Osmers hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. A collision led to Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Ralf Poschmann hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the match, Peter Apel notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV's Bernward Schleiden. Bernward Schleiden was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 28th minute, Peter Apel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV's Bernward Schleiden proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV from getting a goal against them. When Ralf Poschmann fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV's protests and gave Ralf Poschmann a yellow card for diving instead. Ralf Poschmann kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 37th minute, Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV's Ludwig Osmers seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ludwig Osmers the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ludwig Osmers had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The free kick resulted in a very good chance to score when Philipp Flüß kicked a really tricky shot on goal. Bernward Schleiden never had to step in, however, because the ball went just left of the goal. The supporters of Galatasaray S.K 1905 booed when Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lev Bentz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 47 minutes, Denis Waibel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galatasaray S.K 1905's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denis Waibel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The referee showed Alessandro Hanisch the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 55th match minute, Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alessandro Hanisch to maneuver through the defense. Peter Apel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Bernward Schleiden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 76 played minutes Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV got a freekick which was hit by Alessandro Hanisch. In the 83rd minute Peter Apel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernward Schleiden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernward Schleiden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Funk in the 85th minute of the match. Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV's Bernward Schleiden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Funk in the 88th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sport&Erlebnis Xantia eV's zone, Peter Apel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernward Schleiden came out of the goal and Peter Apel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 96th minute, Rudolf Nabor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Galatasaray S.K 1905's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
