Mischa Rehm's late challenge caught a Peking FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mischa Rehm helped the player get up and apologised. After 4 played minutes FC Strasburg got a freekick which was hit by Mischa Rehm. FC Strasburg's Jes Schwaiger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Leißner in the 7th minute of play. When Lysander Niederberger fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Strasburg's protests and gave Lysander Niederberger a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th minute, Lysander Niederberger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Isidor Klotz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from René Busch in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Gilbert Bontz notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of FC Strasburg's Jes Schwaiger. Jes Schwaiger was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gilbert Bontz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Felix Leißner's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 21stth minute, Jes Schwaiger skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Gilbert Bontz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Leißner hit a great ball. In the 35th minute Lysander Niederberger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidor Klotz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Berko Schuster fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After having played for 39 minutes, Rudi Tront managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peking FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rudi Tront was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th minute of the match Peking FC got a corner. FC Strasburg's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Felix Leißner ran over to the corner to take the kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Berko Schuster managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peking FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Berko Schuster was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jes Schwaiger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jes Schwaiger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felix Leißner's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Isidor Klotz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lysander Niederberger, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. FC Strasburg's Lysander Niederberger got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jes Schwaiger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gilbert Bontz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Felix Leißner's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jes Schwaiger was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. Berko Schuster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Jes Schwaiger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Strasburg's Mischa Rehm shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 80th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Isidor Klotz but with some difficulty. Immo Heupel was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 81 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute, one of Peking FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Peking FC. When the match had been going on for 83 minutes, FC Strasburg's Edgar Vuranoglu got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Isidor Klotz. After 86 played minutes Peking FC got a freekick which was hit by Rudi Tront. 94 minutes into the match, Lysander Niederberger dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Isidor Klotz, 2-2. Despite being the better team, Peking FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
