In the 9th match minute, Realjaro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berend Vollrath to maneuver through the defense. In the 10th minute of the match Grischa Bernwurz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulus Overesch showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 12 minutes, Christoph Kampa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Realjaro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christoph Kampa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bozo Westphals short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Paulus Overesch to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cornelius Molitor during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Realjaro booed when Kommerscheidt FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornelius Molitor didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Walter Reiche got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christoph Kampa in the 30th minute of play forced Kommerscheidt FSV's goalkeeper Ernst Paulsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulus Overesch was a little too slow when Walter Reiche got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walter Reiche to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Christoph Kampa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernst Paulsen was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. But to his dismay, Bozo Westphal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Realjaro's Frerk Rankel got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bozo Westphal in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulus Overesch prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Christoph Kampa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Ernst Paulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bozo Westphal in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulus Overesch saved Realjaro from getting behind. 83 minutes into the match, Realjaro's goal looked a bit too open when Walter Reiche came free, but Paulus Overesch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ernst Paulsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christoph Kampa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulus Overesch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bozo Westphal in the 89th minute of play. In the 97thth minute of the game Bozo Westphal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Realjaro's Paulus Overesch was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kommerscheidt FSV's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
