Elvis Wallenhorst sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Javier Ehrl's late challenge caught a Sauerkraut F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Javier Ehrl helped the player get up and apologised. Sauerkraut F.C.'s Arthur Horsmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toni Johannsen in the 20th minute of play. Christoph Benken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Markus Blaustein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 24 played minutes Halbring got a freekick which was hit by Toni Johannsen. Sauerkraut F.C.'s Christoph Benken got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elvis Wallenhorst sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christoph Benken might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Markus Blaustein. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christoph Benken ran back to his position shaking his head. Markus Blaustein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elvis Wallenhorst, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Markus Blaustein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elvis Wallenhorst in the 53rd minute of play. When Hartmut Schmidt fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Halbring's protests and gave Hartmut Schmidt a yellow card for diving instead. Hartmut Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Helmut Zientarski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Sauerkraut F.C.'s Elvis Wallenhorst in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Halbring's goalie prevented a goal. 67 minutes into the match, Halbring's goal looked a bit too open when Elvis Wallenhorst came free, but Markus Blaustein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 67 minutes of play Halbring's Javier Ehrl was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Javier Ehrl hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. 75 minutes into the match, Halbring's goal looked a bit too open when Elvis Wallenhorst came free, but Markus Blaustein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hartmut Schmidt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Helmut Zientarski notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Sauerkraut F.C.'s Arthur Horsmann. Arthur Horsmann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 87th minute Christoph Benken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Markus Blaustein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elvis Wallenhorst sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Halbring walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
