After 17 minutes, Spike Ziervogel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hamburger SV and the Apelern FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Spike Ziervogel kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Amerigo Käss hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. In the 22ndth minute of the game Levent Berger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Apelern FC's Sven Notz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Simon Kliemann came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Hamburger SV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simon Kliemann couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simon Kliemann in the 26th minute of play forced Apelern FC's goalkeeper Sven Notz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Hamburger SV's zone, Torben Schroth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Finke came out of the goal and Torben Schroth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Hamburger SV's Rafael Finke got control of the ball when Patrick Trotzky tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Patrick Trotzky made a precise shot to the right of Rafael Finke. Hamburger SV's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 38th minute, Alessio Steinkopf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Hamburger SV's Rafael Finke got control of the ball when Patrick Trotzky tried to sneak it across the goal line. Patrick Trotzky could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Rafael Finke made a huge save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Apelern FC's Sven Notz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Apelern FC from getting a goal against them. When Simon Kliemann came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Hamburger SV fans jumped to their feet. In the 72nd minute, Torben Schroth left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Apelern FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Patrick Trotzky sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Torben Schroth hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute, Guillaume Maidorn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patrick Trotzky received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Rafael Finke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Simon Kliemann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Apelern FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
