Guido Winkelsett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulrich Dohnanyi, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After 8 minutes, Dietmar Kern mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Laim United and the Ruhla players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Laim United! The referee gave Ruhla a penalty, 9 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Theodor Bay, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Laim United's Brian Borkmann. 0-1. Guido Winkelsett made an important save on a dangerous shot by Magnus Joneschat in the 13th minute. Wilhelm Ockmann hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Laim United's Konstantin Papaspyratos got a free kick in the 18th minute. If Kim Rahaus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Matthew Pfeifenberger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guido Winkelsett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulrich Dohnanyi in the 26th minute of the match. In the 27th minute Kim Rahaus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brian Borkmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ruhla's Matthew Pfeifenberger got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Magnus Joneschat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st match minute, Ruhla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilhelm Ockmann to maneuver through the defense. Laim United's Magnus Joneschat got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kim Rahaus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brian Borkmann having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ulrich Dohnanyi in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guido Winkelsett prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ulrich Dohnanyi made a kick off. In the 55th match minute, Ruhla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilhelm Ockmann to maneuver through the defense. Brian Borkmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kim Rahaus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 77 minutes, Conni Holler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Laim United and the Ruhla players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 77th minute, Conni Holler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 79 minutes into the game, Wulf-Dieter Haas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Laim United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ruhla the free kick. After a rather tough play, Laim United's Wulf-Dieter Haas got a free kick in the 79th minute. Laim United's Brian Borkmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kim Rahaus in the 80th minute of play. Matthew Pfeifenberger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brian Borkmann having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Magnus Joneschat made a precise shot to the right of Guido Winkelsett. Ruhla's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 95th match minute, Laim United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Büssinger to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Ruhla could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Laim United throughout the match.
