Hubert Hug received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Kilian Schabert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kilian Schabert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hubert Hug, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. When Ortwin Görlitz came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Eintracht Braunschweig fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ortwin Görlitz couldn't finish the play. Ortwin Görlitz struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Kilian Schabert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eintracht Braunschweig. 21 minutes into the match, Eintracht Braunschweig's Ortwin Görlitz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kilian Schabert narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kilian Schabert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hubert Hug in the 25th minute of play. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Hubert Hug sped through FC Kickers's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kilian Schabert. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Florian Trobentar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute, Ortwin Görlitz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Florian Trobentar hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Eintracht Braunschweig's Hubert Hug got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Eintracht Braunschweig booed when FC Kickers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hauke Kaminke didn't get a good kick on the ball. 67 minutes into the game, Hubert Hug recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kilian Schabert. Hubert Hug showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. After 69 minutes, Massimo Pitz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eintracht Braunschweig and the FC Kickers players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Eintracht Braunschweig's Massimo Pitz got a free kick in the 69th minute. Ortwin Görlitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kilian Schabert stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hubert Hug's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. After 84 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Kickers fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 90th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Eintracht Braunschweig a penalty, 92 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Erich Gerland, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Kickers's Kilian Schabert. 0-4. Eintracht Braunschweig's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
