Sönke Männel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jurij Deck read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. In the 5th minute of the match Jo Felden sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jurij Deck skillfully saved the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Georg Hornsteiner during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Asshof's Georg Hornsteiner got a free kick in the 10th minute. Schönstein FSV's Oliver Mall got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oliver Mall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jurij Deck made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sönke Männel in the 22nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sönke Männel got free with Jurij Deck in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Asshof's Sönke Männel got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ralph Platen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute Oliver Mall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olaf Popper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sönke Männel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ralph Platen in the 45th minute of play forced Schönstein FSV's goalkeeper Jurij Deck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leon Gedlich kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Sönke Männel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Sönke Männel in the 56th minute of play forced Schönstein FSV's goalkeeper Jurij Deck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jurij Deck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralph Platen, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Ralph Platen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Asshof booed when Schönstein FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jiri Geldmacher didn't get a good kick on the ball. Asshof's Olaf Popper played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralf Hönicke in the 74th minute of play. If Harry Pollan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute, Ibo Goldmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jurij Deck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harry Pollan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute, Nikolas Adasch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jurij Deck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ralph Platen in the 84th minute of the match. Ralf Hönicke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olaf Popper having to interfere. Ibo Goldmann kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Nils Griebel charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nils Griebel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 93 minutes into the game, one of Schönstein FSV:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 96th minute there was a penalty for Asshof. Antonius Elsässer stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jurij Deck. 1-1. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
