Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) In the 6th minute Hernan Blohberger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ken Rau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Walter Päzel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bierden's supporters rose to their feet, but Walter Päzel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Niklas Freiherr breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 12 minutes into the match, Bierden's goal looked a bit too open when Hernan Blohberger came free, but Ken Rau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bierden's Walter Päzel quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Willi Exner, made in the 17th minute of the game. Bierden's Ken Rau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ole Per Scharfenberg in the 21st minute of play. Ken Rau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miroslav Schrenk in the 25th minute of play. 31 minutes into the game, Hernan Blohberger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mettnau's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bierden the free kick. In the 31st minute, Hernan Blohberger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miroslav Schrenk in the 38th minute of play forced Bierden's goalkeeper Ken Rau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ken Rau didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hernan Blohberger went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Miklos Bock made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Bierden's Hanno Tront got a free kick in the 52nd minute. When Walter Päzel fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bierden's protests and gave Walter Päzel a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mettnau booed when Bierden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walter Päzel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Bierden's Hanno Tront got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 65th minute, Mettnau's Hernan Blohberger dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. If Hernan Blohberger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Mettnau's Miroslav Schrenk slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ken Rau. That made the score 0-3 after 71 minutes of play. Ken Rau made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hernan Blohberger in the 76th minute. After 77 minutes, Edson Schüle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bierden and the Mettnau players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 77th match minute, Bierden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edson Schüle to maneuver through the defense. Miroslav Schrenk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Ken Rau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ken Rau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miroslav Schrenk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Bierden's Ken Rau got control of the ball when Ole Per Scharfenberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 88 played minutes Bierden got a freekick which was hit by Edson Schüle. In the 90th match minute, Mettnau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boppo Wuschech to maneuver through the defense. Ken Rau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miroslav Schrenk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 94 minutes of play, Mettnau's Ole Per Scharfenberg made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ken Rau was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mettnau's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
