Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) FC.Schalke 04's Oswald Gaede started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edgar Schönbeck hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. After having played for 8 minutes, Oswald Gaede managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC.Schalke 04's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oswald Gaede was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pascal Petersen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Armin Munderloh fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC.Schalke 04's protests and gave Armin Munderloh a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Teufelsbande Windsbach booed when FC.Schalke 04 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armin Munderloh didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC.Schalke 04's Oswald Gaede got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 21 minutes, Edgar Schönbeck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC.Schalke 04 and the Teufelsbande Windsbach players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 22nd minute, Edgar Schönbeck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Gottfried Kunger sped through FC.Schalke 04's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tjard Walz. Oswald Gaede recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Egon Herzig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kristian Willem Tauscher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. If Egon Herzig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Georg Büchner hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the game, Dennis Riehm was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Teufelsbande Windsbach's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC.Schalke 04 the free kick. In the 40th match minute, Teufelsbande Windsbach was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Riehm to maneuver through the defense. Xaver Olbrich, 41 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Aimé Westphal kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bastian Richardsen in the 44th minute of play forced FC.Schalke 04's goalkeeper Tjard Walz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Egon Herzig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Kristian Willem Tauscher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gottfried Kunger stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Egon Herzig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kristian Willem Tauscher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. 55 minutes into the game, FC.Schalke 04's Egon Herzig nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kristian Willem Tauscher made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Pascal Petersen struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Tjard Walz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Teufelsbande Windsbach. After having played for 67 minutes, Egon Herzig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Egon Herzig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristian Willem Tauscher having to interfere. Kristian Willem Tauscher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Egon Herzig in the 82nd minute of the match. Edgar Schönbeck was shown his second yellow card after 85 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, FC.Schalke 04's Edgar Schönbeck got a free kick in the 86th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Teufelsbande Windsbach's zone, Egon Herzig stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kristian Willem Tauscher came out of the goal and Egon Herzig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 90th minute, Mike Biesenkamp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mirco Dicke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kristian Willem Tauscher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeff Schulte in the 95th minute of the match. FC.Schalke 04 were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
