Leopold Faller charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leopold Faller the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 3 played minutes VFR Fischenich got a freekick which was hit by Leopold Faller. In the 7th minute of the match Farin Krause shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wilhelm Schüßler showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Robert Ollert hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. A collision led to VFR Fischenich getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Leopold Faller hit a great ball. Wilhelm Schüßler didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sören Rott went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Chris Mars struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Wilhelm Schüßler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VFR Fischenich. In the 25th minute of the match Ole Per Schultz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wilhelm Schüßler showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 27 minutes into the match, VFR Fischenich's goalkeeper Felix Gärtner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Egon Ulrich. In the 31st minute, Sören Rott made a precise shot to the right of Wilhelm Schüßler. Högl's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Wilhelm Schüßler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sören Rott in the 34th minute of play. Wilhelm Schüßler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lukas Lang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilhelm Schüßler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lukas Lang in the 36th minute of the match. 37 minutes into the game, Leopold Faller cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Wilhelm Schüßler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Högl's Wilhelm Schüßler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sören Rott in the 42nd minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

In the 51st minute, Leopold Faller got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felix Gärtner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egon Ulrich, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After 56 minutes, Farin Krause mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VFR Fischenich and the Högl players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, VFR Fischenich's Farin Krause got a free kick in the 57th minute. After 59 minutes of play VFR Fischenich's Farin Krause was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In a very dangerous position, a player in VFR Fischenich fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 58th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Högl a penalty, 60 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Robert Ollert, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of VFR Fischenich's Felix Gärtner. 1-3. When Leopold Faller came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the VFR Fischenich fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leopold Faller couldn't finish the play. If Lothar Seybold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Egon Ulrich in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felix Gärtner saved VFR Fischenich from getting behind. After having played for 76 minutes, Egon Ulrich managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Högl's supporters crossed their fingers, but Egon Ulrich was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Felix Gärtner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lothar Seybold, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. VFR Fischenich's Ole Per Schultz shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 83rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Wilhelm Schüßler but with some difficulty. Lothar Seybold received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Felix Gärtner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, VFR Fischenich's goal looked a bit too open when Egon Ulrich came free, but Felix Gärtner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lothar Seybold scored 2-3 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Felix Gärtner, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Felix Gärtner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lothar Seybold, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched VFR Fischenich eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
