The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eilert Vorbeck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Escher FSV's Sandro Ochmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hanns Krenn in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Hanns Krenn made a precise shot to the right of Sandro Ochmann. Escher FSV's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 25th minute Torben Evers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kort Niklaus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eilert Vorbeck scored 0-2 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sandro Ochmann, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hanns Krenn in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sandro Ochmann saved Escher FSV from getting behind. The supporters of Batzdorf booed when Escher FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hannes Bittscheidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute of the match Costa Toth shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sandro Ochmann showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Kort Niklaus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torben Evers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Torben Evers blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kort Niklaus having to make a save. In the 39th minute, Mirco Börnsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hanns Krenn during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Batzdorf's Hanns Krenn got a free kick in the 42nd minute. When Costa Toth fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Batzdorf's protests and gave Costa Toth a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Batzdorf getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Costa Toth hit a great ball. In the 46th minute Detlef Frigger managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Kort Niklaus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torben Evers in the 48th minute of the match.

Sandro Ochmann didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 93rd minute, which inside left pole to 1-4. When the final whistle sounded Batzdorf left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Escher FSV.
