Werner Hegekötter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Utz Hoppe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 22nd minute Kim Siebert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guido Babylon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jakob Schade charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jakob Schade the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Gashol's Jakob Schade got a free kick in the 26th minute. 31 minutes into the game, Gashol's Rocco Schlachter nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Utz Hoppe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Rocco Schlachter charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rocco Schlachter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Gashol's Rocco Schlachter got a free kick in the 34th minute. When Frederik Gröner came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Witzhave FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frederik Gröner couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Kim Siebert took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Guido Babylon to make any attempt to save it. Utz Hoppe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerd Riegel in the 42nd minute of play. Utz Hoppe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rocco Schlachter went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Frederik Gröner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kim Siebert to strike the kick off in the second half. Utz Hoppe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Werner Hegekötter went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Jochen Boback's late challenge caught a Witzhave FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jochen Boback helped the player get up and apologised. After 56 played minutes Gashol got a freekick which was hit by Jochen Boback. Guido Babylon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kim Siebert, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 61stth minute of the game Frederik Gröner who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gashol's Guido Babylon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Gashol's Jakob Schade tried to score from far away in the 66th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Guido Babylon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kim Siebert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Witzhave FC's Kim Siebert got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Gashol's Rocco Schlachter got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Kim Siebert came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Witzhave FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kim Siebert couldn't finish the play. Rocco Schlachter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Utz Hoppe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Werner Hegekötter in the 84th minute. If Werner Hegekötter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
