After 8 minutes, Nikolai Roese mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Klein Goldbeck FC and the Steckelbach players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Klein Goldbeck FC's Nikolai Roese got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 10thth minute of the game Björn Bischhhof who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Klein Goldbeck FC's Patrick Weyerich was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Klein Goldbeck FC defense, Björn Burgers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Patrick Weyerich. The Klein Goldbeck FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Patrick Weyerich should have stopped the shot. 20 minutes into the match, Klein Goldbeck FC's goal looked a bit too open when Björn Bischhhof came free, but Patrick Weyerich reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Klein Goldbeck FC's Halil Ruchay got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Michele Schiborr sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ali Ertan Ballwanz during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd minute, one of Klein Goldbeck FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Klein Goldbeck FC. In the 34th minute there was a penalty for Steckelbach. Andreas Mack stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Patrick Weyerich. 0-3. Klein Goldbeck FC's Kester Solder got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 41 minutes into the game, Michele Schiborr lined in a short shot 1-3 behind a frustrated Dirk Meyer. Dirk Meyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Philipp Fritzsch in the 46th minute of play. Klein Goldbeck FC's Philipp Fritzsch was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 49th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Björn Bischhhof stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Patrick Weyerich showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Björn Bischhhof in the 60th minute of the match. With a little luck, Klein Goldbeck FC's Patrick Weyerich got control of the ball when Björn Burgers tried to sneak it across the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Klein Goldbeck FC's Michele Schiborr sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dirk Meyer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Philipp Fritzsch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Dirk Meyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Björn Bischhhof struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Patrick Weyerich didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Steckelbach. Patrick Weyerich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Björn Bischhhof in the 99th minute of play. The Steckelbach supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Steckelbach would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
