Julius Rauch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sami Asad, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 15th minute Frank-Dieter Hübner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julius Rauch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sami Asad in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julius Rauch prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Frank-Dieter Hübner came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Hückerholz FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank-Dieter Hübner couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 30th minute of the game. One of Effelsberg FSV:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hückerholz FC:s goal. The referee gave Hückerholz FC a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Klaus Boy, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Effelsberg FSV's Julius Rauch. 2-1. If Philipp Mulack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julius Rauch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank-Dieter Hübner in the 36th minute of the match. Hückerholz FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Dominic Gottwalz scored to the left of an out of position Jürgen Godescheid, making the score, 3-1. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Effelsberg FSV's goalkeeper Julius Rauch, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dominic Gottwalz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Jürgen Godescheid tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, Hückerholz FC's goalkeeper Jürgen Godescheid had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dieter Hülsmann. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dominic Gottwalz made a kick off. Frank-Dieter Hübner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Effelsberg FSV's Julius Rauch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sami Asad in the 54th minute of play. If Dominic Gottwalz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hückerholz FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
