Birkenkamp's Mads Punke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Scheytt in the 28th minute of play. Homfeld FC's Dennis Reich got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mads Punke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Reich in the 34th minute of the match. In the 35th match minute, Homfeld FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Reich to maneuver through the defense. If Curtis Liebig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Steven Groeters showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philo Binninger, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Birkenkamp's goalkeeper Mads Punke had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafael Scheytt. Curtis Liebig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Steven Groeters tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maxi Walczok kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
