Hugh Langhals made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karsten Vogler in the 14th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Rietberg's Karsten Vogler sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hugh Langhals narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hugh Langhals showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karsten Vogler, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Artur Parlik hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Ambrosius Franz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kurt Wolf read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. After having played for 29 minutes, Julien-Nils Wiese managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rietberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julien-Nils Wiese was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Ambrosius Franz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renato Tetzner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sven Muhs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Hugh Langhals made a huge save. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karsten Vogler made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Igli Heintz during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 52 played minutes Frixheim FC got a freekick which was hit by Igli Heintz. Rietberg's Sven Muhs got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hugh Langhals took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jochen Genzwürker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute, Herbert Liess hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd minute, Renato Tetzner fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 67 minutes into the match, Renato Tetzner dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Kurt Wolf, 0-1. Hugh Langhals showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven Muhs in the 72nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Renato Tetzner managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frixheim FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Renato Tetzner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kurt Wolf breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Sven Muhs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
