Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Wieland Gniech got the match started through his kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Herten FC's Wieland Gniech sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arne Vollmar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ted Höfgen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 6 played minutes Ted Höfgen rounded Erbuch's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. In the 9th minute, Herten FC's Wieland Gniech dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. After having played for 16 minutes, Ted Höfgen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herten FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ted Höfgen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pirmin Bauers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Vollmar having to interfere. In the 20th match minute, Erbuch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonso Knabe to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute, Ted Höfgen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Wieland Gniech managed to get in a good position for a shot. Herten FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wieland Gniech was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arne Vollmar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Louis Habel's late challenge caught a Herten FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Louis Habel helped the player get up and apologised. 36 minutes into the match, Erbuch's goalkeeper Arne Vollmar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ted Höfgen. Ted Höfgen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arne Vollmar having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Wieland Gniech managed to get in a good position for a shot. Herten FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wieland Gniech was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arne Vollmar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Florin Eisold showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Louis Habel in the 41st minute of the match. Ted Höfgen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Arne Vollmar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 44 played minutes Herten FC got a freekick which was hit by Kees Rosentritt. When Robert Kläser fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Herten FC's protests and gave Robert Kläser a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute, Robert Kläser hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roland Otto was the one to do the kick off. When Ted Höfgen came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Herten FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ted Höfgen couldn't finish the play. In the 60th minute, Kees Rosentritt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Erbuch's goalkeeper Arne Vollmar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pirmin Bauers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arne Vollmar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Wieland Gniech fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Vollmar having to interfere. A collision led to Herten FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Pirmin Bauers hit a great ball. In the 77th minute, Wieland Gniech made a precise shot to the right of Arne Vollmar. Erbuch's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Herten FC's Wieland Gniech got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arne Vollmar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wieland Gniech, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ted Höfgen struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Arne Vollmar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Herten FC. Herten FC's Wieland Gniech got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roland Otto during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 95th minute, Roland Otto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There was no doubt that Herten FC were the better team. Herten FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
