The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Gemünden FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulrik Demele to maneuver through the defense. Gabriel Leibel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Conrad Skrentny having to make a save. Gregor Stoffmehl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldemar Schmidt having to interfere. Bastiaan Keßler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Waldemar Schmidt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gabriel Leibel struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Conrad Skrentny didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Neufang FC. Bastiaan Keßler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldemar Schmidt having to interfere. Conrad Skrentny showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Bader, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Conrad Skrentny took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timo Eichelberger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gregor Stoffmehl who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Waldemar Schmidt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gregor Stoffmehl's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waldemar Schmidt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Gabriel Leibel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conrad Skrentny having to interfere. After having played for 41 minutes, Bastiaan Keßler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gemünden FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bastiaan Keßler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gregor Stoffmehl might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Waldemar Schmidt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gregor Stoffmehl ran back to his position shaking his head. Bastiaan Keßler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Waldemar Schmidt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Bastiaan Keßler who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Neufang FC's Waldemar Schmidt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bastiaan Keßler scored 1-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Waldemar Schmidt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 59 minutes into the game, Manfred Wörner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Neufang FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gemünden FC the free kick. The supporters of Gemünden FC booed when Neufang FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manfred Wörner didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bastiaan Keßler in the 61st minute of play forced Neufang FC's goalkeeper Waldemar Schmidt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute Gregor Stoffmehl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldemar Schmidt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64thth minute of the game Gregor Stoffmehl who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Neufang FC's Waldemar Schmidt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregor Stoffmehl in the 71st minute of play forced Neufang FC's goalkeeper Waldemar Schmidt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Neufang FC's Mario Bader got a free kick in the 86th minute. Waldemar Schmidt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bastiaan Keßler, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. If Bastiaan Keßler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 95 minutes into the game, Bastiaan Keßler cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Waldemar Schmidt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. There was no doubt that Gemünden FC were the better team. Gemünden FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
