Thilo Knorr showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philipp Kucharczyk, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 16 minutes into the game, Dominik Überwasser was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Großschwamborn's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA the free kick. In the 16th minute, Dominik Überwasser hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jörg Friedhoff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thilo Knorr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Gistl in the 22nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Großschwamborn's Wilhelm Heine slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Karsten Hußmann. That made the score 1-0 after 23 minutes of play. If Jörg Friedhoff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 31 minutes of play, SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA's Philipp Kucharczyk made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thilo Knorr was left in no man's land by his defense there! Karsten Hußmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilhelm Heine, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After 46 played minutes SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA got a freekick which was hit by Marco Walloch. The Großschwamborn players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. In the 58th minute Großschwamborn were awarded a corner. Paul Bökelmann went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 79th minute, Jörg Friedhoff left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Großschwamborn fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. In the 83rd minute Jörg Friedhoff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karsten Hußmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thilo Knorr took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Philipp Kucharczyk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the match, Großschwamborn's goal looked a bit too open when Philipp Kucharczyk came free, but Thilo Knorr reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
