When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Wilhelm Heine took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Paul Amelung to make any attempt to save it. 16 minutes into the match, Großschwamborn's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Reim came free, but Thilo Knorr reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paul Amelung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilhelm Heine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Faruk Kersken's late challenge caught a Köchingen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Faruk Kersken helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Großschwamborn getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Faruk Kersken hit a great ball. The supporters of Köchingen booed when Großschwamborn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faruk Kersken didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Großschwamborn's Paul Bökelmann slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Paul Amelung. That made the score 2-0 after 31 minutes of play. In the 36th minute, Jörg Friedhoff ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paul Amelung was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Großschwamborn's Jörg Friedhoff got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd minute Kurt Reim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thilo Knorr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilhelm Heine in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paul Amelung prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 47th minute Kurt Reim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thilo Knorr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wilhelm Heine stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Niklaus Schwarzfischer kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Paul Amelung showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilhelm Heine in the 52nd minute of the match. A hard shot 53 in the game by Kurt Reim from a close distance when the talented Thilo Knorr managed to make a qualified save. Großschwamborn's players were relieved. Köchingen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jörg Friedhoff was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After 68 played minutes, Köchingen's Özcan Gebert shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Thilo Knorr came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Köchingen reached it. Jörg Friedhoff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Paul Amelung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Wilhelm Heine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard Kalvelage fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thilo Knorr having to interfere. When Radenko Fehr fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Großschwamborn's protests and gave Radenko Fehr a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th minute, Radenko Fehr hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Köchingen booed when Großschwamborn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radenko Fehr didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Kalvelage in the 83rd minute of play forced Großschwamborn's goalkeeper Thilo Knorr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Köchingen's Simon Illmann got a free kick in the 83rd minute. When Wilhelm Heine came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Großschwamborn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilhelm Heine couldn't finish the play. Großschwamborn's Thilo Knorr proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Großschwamborn from getting a goal against them. After having played for 88 minutes, Jörg Friedhoff managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Großschwamborn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jörg Friedhoff was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 90th minute, Paul Bökelmann ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paul Amelung was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. When Radenko Fehr was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 95 minutes had been played. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kurt Reim got free with Thilo Knorr in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
