But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wolf Senkel couldn't finish the play. Marc-Joel Sieben charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marc-Joel Sieben the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 6 played minutes Reitersberg got a freekick which was hit by Marc-Joel Sieben. Wolf Senkel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elias Polskis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Emanuel Lindenthal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joachim Neumann in the 13th minute of play. Emanuel Lindenthal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joachim Neumann's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Wolf Senkel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wolf Senkel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Elias Polskis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manfred Deipenbrock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Joachim Neumann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emanuel Lindenthal was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joachim Neumann to make the kick off. Joachim Neumann might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emanuel Lindenthal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joachim Neumann ran back to his position shaking his head. If Wolf Senkel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wolf Senkel's late challenge caught a Reitersberg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wolf Senkel helped the player get up and apologised. In the 58th match minute, FC Varste was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wolf Senkel to maneuver through the defense. After 60 played minutes FC Varste got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinand Innerwinkler. After a defensive mix-up in FC Varste's zone, Ingo Erkelenz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Lindenthal came out of the goal and Ingo Erkelenz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manfred Deipenbrock in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elias Polskis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Reitersberg getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Patrik Dickes hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Wolf Senkel put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Elias Polskis. Ingo Erkelenz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Emanuel Lindenthal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wolf Senkel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elias Polskis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Wolf Senkel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Polskis having to interfere. Wolf Senkel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 94 minutes into the match, Manfred Deipenbrock notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Reitersberg's Elias Polskis. Elias Polskis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Varste fully deserved thier win.
