Gernot Tünnissen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Giovanni Plank tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Günther Feierabend fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stephan Dusend having to interfere. After having played for 17 minutes, Gernot Tünnissen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tiergartenbreite FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gernot Tünnissen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emanuel Klotz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Giovanni Plank made a huge save. Giovanni Plank was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gernot Tünnissen showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernot Tünnissen in the 31st minute of play forced Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Giovanni Plank to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wayne Bernwurz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Stephan Dusend tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Günther Feierabend ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stephan Dusend was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Gernot Tünnissen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Giovanni Plank read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. A collision led to Borussia Dortmund getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Per Steinebrunner hit a great ball. In the 46th minute of the match André Weinmann shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stephan Dusend showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gernot Tünnissen to make the kick off. Giovanni Plank didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Tiergartenbreite FC's Emanuel Klotz shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Giovanni Plank came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Tiergartenbreite FC's Gernot Tünnissen. But to his dismay, Gernot Tünnissen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. 63 minutes into the match, Tiergartenbreite FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wayne Bernwurz came free, but Stephan Dusend reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stephan Dusend didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Günther Feierabend went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. The supporters of Tiergartenbreite FC booed when Borussia Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Keim didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giovanni Plank showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gernot Tünnissen in the 73rd minute of the match. After 80 minutes, Aydin Olck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tiergartenbreite FC and the Borussia Dortmund players grew even worse after the yellow card. Borussia Dortmund's Günther Feierabend got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 84 minutes, Emanuel Klotz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tiergartenbreite FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Klotz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th match minute, Borussia Dortmund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximilian Kaumanns to maneuver through the defense. Günther Feierabend's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 91stth minute, Stephan Dusend skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Wayne Bernwurz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
