Giovanni Plank didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Manuel Teufel went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Giovanni Plank made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Teufel in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute Wayne Bernwurz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harold Winkelmeier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claus FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Claus FC's Manuel Teufel slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Giovanni Plank. That made the score 2-0 after 37 minutes of play. If Lucas Lewandowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 46 minutes, Lucas Lewandowski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Claus FC and the Borussia Dortmund players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th minute, Lucas Lewandowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After 51 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Adam Kirchner. If Lucas Lewandowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 65 minutes, Günther Feierabend managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borussia Dortmund's supporters crossed their fingers, but Günther Feierabend was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A very good chance. In the 79th match minute, Claus FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Freese to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 82 minutes, Leif Imkamp managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Claus FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leif Imkamp was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Manuel Teufel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Giovanni Plank having to make a save. Leif Imkamp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Plank having to interfere. Claus FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
