In the 7th minute, Hermann Bökelmann made a precise shot to the right of Christof Zeh. Roter Stern Leipzig's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Christof Zeh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hauke Lieser, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lou Reimann struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Christof Zeh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FSV Harz Thale. In the 18thth minute of the game Hermann Bökelmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Roter Stern Leipzig's Christof Zeh was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Christof Zeh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lou Reimann in the 23rd minute of play. Lou Reimann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Christof Zeh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Roter Stern Leipzig's Cord Rädel got a free kick in the 28th minute. Albin Reinisch kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Volkmar Greilich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Wendelin Behringer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gonzalo Decius hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lou Reimann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Lou Reimann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Albin Reinisch hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After 58 played minutes, Roter Stern Leipzig's Quentin Brantwein shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Wendelin Behringer came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Roter Stern Leipzig reached it. In the 58th minute, Gonzalo Decius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute of the match Gregorij Sikirski sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christof Zeh skillfully saved the ball. Lou Reimann scored 0-2 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christof Zeh, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lou Reimann in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christof Zeh saved Roter Stern Leipzig from getting behind. Roter Stern Leipzig's Christof Zeh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Roter Stern Leipzig from getting a goal against them. In the 79th minute, Hermann Bökelmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FSV Harz Thale's Wendelin Behringer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Volkmar Greilich in the 86th minute of play. Lou Reimann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Christof Zeh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roter Stern Leipzig's Christof Zeh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lou Reimann in the 95th minute of play. The FSV Harz Thale players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
