FC Carl Zeiss Jena's supporters rose to their feet, but Erik Drechsler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clemens Grünberger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Erik Drechsler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Karl Friebe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernhard Harris in the 21st minute of the match. In the 21st minute Emil Rohde suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 21 minutes into the game, Yannik Croy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Carl Zeiss Jena's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Höferhof the free kick. The supporters of Höferhof booed when FC Carl Zeiss Jena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yannik Croy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernhard Harris struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Karl Friebe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Höferhof. In the 31st minute, Julius Heyckendorf got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bernhard Harris could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Karl Friebe made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Höferhof's Fatih Windscheif slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Karl Friebe. That made the score 2-1 after 60 minutes of play. Höferhof's Bernhard Harris got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, FC Carl Zeiss Jena's goalkeeper Karl Friebe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Horst Ulbrich. Karl Friebe was a little too slow when Bernhard Harris got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 67th minute. The score was now 2-2. Clemens Grünberger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julius Heyckendorf, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. If Bernhard Harris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adolf Leichsenring fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl Friebe having to interfere. Leonid Schaar charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonid Schaar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, FC Carl Zeiss Jena's Leonid Schaar got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Bernhard Harris's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 95thth minute, Karl Friebe skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Bernhard Harris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Carl Zeiss Jena's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
