After 12 minutes, Patrick Hellinger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lüdespert FC and the RWD2 players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Wilhelm Reichel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Jochen Sylvester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 25 minutes, Jochen Sylvester managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lüdespert FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jochen Sylvester was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in RWD2's zone, Jochen Sylvester stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leopold Hartdegen came out of the goal and Jochen Sylvester tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heribert Rauh in the 34th minute of play forced RWD2's goalkeeper Leopold Hartdegen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to RWD2 getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Wilhelm Reichel hit a great ball. Wilhelm Reichel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Beat Runde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 38th minute by Wilhelm Reichel got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Sebastian Dullinger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 44 minutes into the match, Lüdespert FC's goalkeeper Beat Runde had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wilhelm Reichel. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sebastian Dullinger to make the kick off. Beat Runde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilhelm Reichel, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Jochen Sylvester struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Leopold Hartdegen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lüdespert FC. Leopold Hartdegen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heribert Rauh in the 72nd minute of play. If Wilhelm Reichel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sebastian Dullinger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Beat Runde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. RWD2's Leopold Hartdegen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heribert Rauh in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Volker Niklaus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jochen Sylvester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Wilhelm Reichel got in the 84th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Beat Runde handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Sebastian Dullinger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beat Runde having to interfere. Beat Runde stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sebastian Dullinger's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilhelm Reichel in the 94th minute of play forced Lüdespert FC's goalkeeper Beat Runde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Volker Niklaus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The RWD2 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lüdespert FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
