Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Hajo Borger started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the game, Karel Krause was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Schalke 04's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Checkpoint the free kick. In the 3rd minute, Karel Krause hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 5 played minutes Schalke 04 got a freekick which was hit by Gunther Hock. After a rather tough play, Checkpoint's Jörg Oettinger got a free kick in the 13th minute. Henning Gallois received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Reinhold Jerems tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Schalke 04's Henning Bartz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Schalke 04 from getting a goal against them. Kilian Bogner charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kilian Bogner the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 19 played minutes Schalke 04 got a freekick which was hit by Kilian Bogner. Schalke 04's Henning Bartz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hajo Borger in the 22nd minute of play. With 25 minutes on the clock, Jörg Oettinger commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Checkpoint:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Schalke 04:s goal. Esau Budden shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Schalke 04's Linus Mönnich got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 32 minutes, Barnabas Berg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Checkpoint and the Schalke 04 players grew even worse after the yellow card. Barnabas Berg kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Esau Budden took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Reinhold Jerems. Checkpoint's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Henning Gallois managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schalke 04's supporters rose to their feet, but Henning Gallois was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reinhold Jerems breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kilian Bogner was shown his second yellow card after 37 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 41 minutes into the match, Checkpoint's goal looked a bit too open when Henning Gallois came free, but Reinhold Jerems reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Henning Gallois came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Schalke 04 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henning Gallois couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute, Henning Gallois got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 45th match minute, Schalke 04 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Künzer to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Henning Gallois was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Checkpoint's Reinhold Jerems got control of the ball when Henning Gallois tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Henning Gallois came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Schalke 04 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henning Gallois couldn't finish the play. Lothar Stötzel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 76 minutes into the match, Schalke 04's goal looked a bit too open when Gerhard Jakob came free, but Henning Bartz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the game, Andreas Dörfler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Schalke 04's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Checkpoint the free kick. In the 78th match minute, Schalke 04 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Dörfler to maneuver through the defense. Lothar Stötzel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henning Bartz having to interfere. Reinhold Jerems showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henning Gallois in the 84th minute of the match. A collision led to Checkpoint getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Kasper Dost hit a great ball. Henning Gallois in the 88thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Reinhold Jerems, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lothar Stötzel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Schalke 04 had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
