The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jan Schön showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stefan Wennemer, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. When Stefan Wennemer came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Rothenbach fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stefan Wennemer couldn't finish the play. 15 minutes into the game, Emil Braner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rothenbach's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Rügen 02 the free kick. After a rather tough play, Rothenbach's Emil Braner got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute, Volkhard Burgmann sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Rothenbach's Ödön Kaehlitz didn't even have to move. In the 18th minute, FC Rügen 02's Konrad Güssgen ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ödön Kaehlitz. Ödön Kaehlitz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Jan Schön stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pepe Irmisch's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Gert Blaumüller charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gert Blaumüller the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 24 played minutes FC Rügen 02 got a freekick which was hit by Gert Blaumüller. FC Rügen 02's Jan Schön played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pepe Irmisch in the 25th minute of play. Rothenbach's Ödön Kaehlitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jürg Frosch in the 26th minute of play. Sandro Karl hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Rothenbach's Zaman Joithe suffered a sore thigh after 30 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kurt Kremer during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Rügen 02's Kurt Kremer got a free kick in the 31st minute. Pepe Irmisch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Uwe Arnold's late challenge caught a FC Rügen 02's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Uwe Arnold helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Rothenbach getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Uwe Arnold hit a great ball. In the 39th minute, Frederik Riester made a precise shot to the right of Ödön Kaehlitz. Rothenbach's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Rothenbach's Ödön Kaehlitz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Rothenbach from getting a goal against them.

The wind increased when Pepe Irmisch made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match Rothenbach got a corner. FC Rügen 02's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jochen Gallasch ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rothenbach's Jochen Gallasch was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jan Schön in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to Rothenbach getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Sandro Karl hit a great ball. After 61 minutes of play, FC Rügen 02's Jürg Frosch made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ödön Kaehlitz was left in no man's land by his defense there! 66 minutes into the game, FC Rügen 02's Jürg Frosch nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ödön Kaehlitz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. 70 minutes into the match, Rothenbach's goal looked a bit too open when Jürg Frosch came free, but Ödön Kaehlitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rothenbach's Ödön Kaehlitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jürg Frosch in the 78th minute of play. After 80 minutes of play, FC Rügen 02's Jürg Frosch made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ödön Kaehlitz was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Frederik Riester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frederik Riester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ödön Kaehlitz having to interfere. Ödön Kaehlitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederik Riester, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. FC Rügen 02 walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
