Leo Tiedgen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Reimann having to interfere. Michael Reimann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jörn Weigl went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Jörn Weigl put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Michael Reimann. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jörn Weigl in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Michael Reimann saved Varenholz FSV from getting behind. 15 minutes into the match, Varenholz FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Fritz Despang came free, but Michael Reimann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, MİA's goalkeeper Florentin Dierking had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nikolaus Quint. Jörn Weigl scored 0-3 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Michael Reimann, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Michael Reimann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jörn Weigl's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. After 31 played minutes Varenholz FSV got a freekick which was hit by Christof Brendel. Ralf Drewniak's late challenge caught a MİA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ralf Drewniak helped the player get up and apologised. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jörn Weigl in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Michael Reimann saved Varenholz FSV from getting behind. MİA's Jörn Weigl managed to work through Varenholz FSV's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Jörn Weigl dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Leo Tiedgen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Michael Reimann having to make a save. Michael Reimann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jörn Weigl in the 44th minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Micha-Alexander Rauhaus left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MİA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. After the first half MİA were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ralf Drewniak stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jörn Weigl in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Michael Reimann saved Varenholz FSV from getting behind. Jörn Weigl had several of the Varenholz FSV's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 56 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Michael Reimann as he didn't even see the shot coming. With a little luck, Varenholz FSV's Michael Reimann got control of the ball when Jörn Weigl tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of MİA booed when Varenholz FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nikolaus Quint didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 64 minutes of play, Varenholz FSV's Ralf Drewniak made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Florentin Dierking was left in no man's land by his defense there! When MİA's Jörn Weigl in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Varenholz FSV's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 86 minutes, Nikolaus Quint managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varenholz FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nikolaus Quint was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leo Tiedgen hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Ralf Drewniak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florentin Dierking having to interfere. In the 96th match minute, MİA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hippolyt Pache to maneuver through the defense. In the 97th minute of the match Niclas Arndt sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Florentin Dierking skillfully saved the ball.
