Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Edbert Heiermann took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 13 played minutes Sönnern got a freekick which was hit by Engelbert Gerdes. In the 14th minute of the match Eike Beier shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Michael Fekecs showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Michael Grajewski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edbert Heiermann, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Klaus Schlesiger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Michael Grajewski having to make a save. Klaus Schlesiger's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Michael Grajewski firmly grabbed it by the left post. The supporters of Mittelbaar FC booed when Sönnern was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Engelbert Gerdes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hans-Peter Riedel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michael Fekecs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Nacke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Michael Grajewski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edbert Heiermann in the 36th minute of the match. 37 minutes into the game, Klaus Schlesiger cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Michael Grajewski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Klaus Schlesiger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Michael Grajewski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 43 minutes, Edbert Heiermann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sönnern's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edbert Heiermann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hans-Peter Riedel was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Mittelbaar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Engelbert Gerdes came free, but Michael Grajewski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Sönnern's Klaus Schlesiger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Michael Grajewski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 66th minute Edbert Heiermann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael Grajewski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74thth minute of the game Edbert Heiermann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mittelbaar FC's Michael Grajewski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Sönnern's goalkeeper Michael Fekecs had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Peter Nacke. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Klaus Schlesiger in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Michael Grajewski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Klaus Schlesiger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Klaus Schlesiger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Grajewski having to interfere. Michael Grajewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Klaus Schlesiger in the 93rd minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sönnern fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mittelbaar FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
