In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Elberfelder FC's goalkeeper Jeff Westerwelle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Patrick Mrozik came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Salzwoog FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrick Mrozik couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Patrick Mrozik's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeff Westerwelle was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dennis Pangerl got free with Sven Eckert in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Salzwoog FSV were victorious despite being under pressure from Elberfelder FC for much of the match.
