With a little luck, Dörenthe's Erdal Köppen got control of the ball when Kai Mauz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cem Kerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Denniger, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 14th minute of the match, Kai Mauz got a very nice opportunity to score, but Erdal Köppen was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ferenc Schinner might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cem Kerber. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ferenc Schinner ran back to his position shaking his head. Sören Hauser scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cem Kerber, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kai Mauzs short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Erdal Köppen to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Altengesees booed when Dörenthe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Klaus Hochbaum didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes in the game, Kai Mauz fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Erdal Köppen having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Ferenc Schinner made a precise shot to the right of Cem Kerber. Altengesees's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. A collision led to Dörenthe getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Pascal Warnke hit a great ball. When Jeff Borowski fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dörenthe's protests and gave Jeff Borowski a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Altengesees booed when Dörenthe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeff Borowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erdal Köppen made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Daniel Rump sent off a good shot on target. Dörenthe's Erdal Köppen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clint Hocker in the 41st minute of play. With an all-out effort, Altengesees's Erdal Köppen threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Clint Hocker, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Kai Mauz scored 2-2 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erdal Köppen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Kai Mauz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Altengesees's supporters rose to their feet, but Kai Mauz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erdal Köppen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clint Hocker's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erdal Köppen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Gabriel Denniger kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After 87 played minutes Dörenthe got a freekick which was hit by Klaus Hochbaum. 91 minutes into the match, Altengesees's goalkeeper Cem Kerber had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ferenc Schinner. Ferenc Schinner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cem Kerber having to interfere. Jeff Borowski was shown his second yellow card after 96 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 96th minute, Jeff Borowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Dörenthe's zone, Clint Hocker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erdal Köppen came out of the goal and Clint Hocker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
