The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Ferenc Schinner left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dörenthe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Fc Asa's zone, Sören Hauser stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Holger Gnann came out of the goal and Sören Hauser tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Holger Gnann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sören Hauser in the 13th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Fc Asa's Kasimir Kuhn got a free kick in the 25th minute. If Ferenc Schinner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 30th match minute, Fc Asa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthias Heike to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, Karl Straub ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erdal Köppen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Klaus Hochbaum kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Holger Gnann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ferenc Schinner in the 44th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sören Hauser to make the kick off. Jan Gutzeit kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Holger Gnann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sören Hauser, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Fc Asa getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Karl Straub hit a great ball. Karl Straub blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erdal Köppen having to make a save. When Matthias Heike fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc Asa's protests and gave Matthias Heike a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Fc Asa's Matthias Heike got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 79th minute, Matthias Heike hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dörenthe's Erdal Köppen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Dörenthe from getting a goal against them. Sören Hauser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Holger Gnann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jan Killmaier fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc Asa's protests and gave Jan Killmaier a yellow card for diving instead. In the 92nd minute, Jan Killmaier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute, Ferenc Schinner ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Holger Gnann was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Dörenthe were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Fc Asa for a fine match.
