Jupp Schneider showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dante Mersmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Adriano Knorra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Georg Bodendiek went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 23rd minute, Dante Mersmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Georg Bodendiek charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Georg Bodendiek the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Piggie booed when Ameling FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Georg Bodendiek didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Dante Mersmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Perry Kaas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute Dante Mersmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jupp Schneider saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Mersmann might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jupp Schneider. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dante Mersmann ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 40th minute of the match Thorben Tandler sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jupp Schneider skillfully saved the ball. Eilert von Puttkammer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

When Georg Bodendiek came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Ameling FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Georg Bodendiek couldn't finish the play. Perry Kaas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eilert von Puttkammer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Jupp Schneider tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicolai Domeier kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Perry Kaas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Piggie's Eilert von Puttkammer got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eilert von Puttkammer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jupp Schneider having to interfere. Dante Mersmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jupp Schneider having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in FC Piggie's zone, Perry Kaas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adriano Knorra came out of the goal and Perry Kaas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 94 minutes, Raffael Vossen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Piggie and the Ameling FSV players grew even worse after the yellow card. With his leg Jupp Schneider managed to avoid a goal in the 97thth minute, when FC Piggie's Eilert von Puttkammer fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ameling FSV fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Piggie had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
